About ACOE Foundation
General Information
The Alabama Conference Of Educators (ACOE) Foundation was established in 2008 by the Alabama Conference Of Educators, www.ACOE.us . The purpose of the ACOE Foundation is to promote and provide support to Alabama teachers and students in order to establish world-class education for all of Alabama’s children through initiatives that recruit, develop, retain and recognize highly accomplished teachers.
Approval of Tax Exempt Status
The ACOE Foundation received IRS approval as a public charity under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code on October 6, 2008. The IRS has determined the ACOE Foundation is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the ACOE Foundation are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The ACOE Foundation is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Code. The ACOE Foundation does not offer tax advice, donors should consult with their tax attorney for specific questions.

The ACOE Foundation has worked hard to showcase our progress toward our mission, and our long-held belief in being transparent about our work, to our constituents. As a GuideStar Exchange member, we use their platform to share a wealth of up-to-date information about our work to our supporters and GuideStar's immense online audience of nonprofits, grant makers, individual donors, and the media. Board of Directors
Among the members of the Board of Directors of the ACOE Foundation are a Title 1 Administrator in the Pell City School System, an Elementary School teacher from the Blount County School System, an Elementary School teacher from the Pell City School System, an independent business owner and Founder of PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators), an independent Consultant, and a Senior Manager/CPA with one of the largest Accounting Firms in the world. Among other professionals being sought as additional Board Members are attorneys, retail business executives, manufacturing business executives, and those with public service experience.
